GLL is looking for a Marketing & Sales Advisor (Events) for The Sands Centre in Carlisle, Cumbria. This role will support in developing and growing audience attendance numbers across The Sands Centre events, as well as actively promoting all aspects of the events programme. The Centre hosts over 200 events a year ranging from comedy to West End productions and classical concerts.
As a Marketing & Sales Advisor, you'll be primarily focused on promotional and marketing activities as well as PR, social media management, customer relations and brand representation. You'll manage and maintain our online presence (website and social media) plus manage all group bookings via telephone and email which you'll then process via the box office system. Working with the Deputy Events Manager and Events Duty Manager, you'll support on devising and delivering marketing planners and promotional activity to engage and entice audiences to increase sales. You'll build good working relationships with local media, national media and relevant suppliers as well as leading on potential sponsorship deals with external companies.
You'll have experience in website and social media management plus ideally customer service experience in the arts and events industry. As you'll be dealing with a diverse range of people, you'll have excellent written and verbal communication skills, and great interpersonal skills too. You'll also have a good understanding of packages such as Microsoft Office plus a working knowledge of GDPR & Data Protection Laws. It would be desirable to have knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite including Photoshop, InDesign and Premier Pro, Box Office Systems, Spektrix and email / SMS marketing software. Time management will be important, as will working well under pressure, whilst still maintaining accuracy in all that you do.
