Founded by contemporary artist Yuan Gong in 2017, Troy House Art Foundation (previously known as Fortress Contemporary Art Foundation) is a non-profit organisation dedicated to the advocacy of artistic research and facilitating cultural exchange through private collection, sponsorship and public programming.

In particular, Troy House Art incubates the establishment of Points Center for Contemporary Art, which is devoted to the discovery of regional culture through international residency programme and fosters the connection between Troy House Art and other collectives and networks in a global context. As an institution, Troy House Art aspires to serve as a platform where critical dialogues, artistic reflection and practice-orientated research can intertwine to reflect the diversity and development of the societal, cultural and technological changes of our time.

ROLE

Junior Assistant

RESPONSIBILTIES

Assist in the general planning, coordination and execution of Troy House Art programme, including but not limited to:

  • Liaise with curators, artists, art organization and educational institutions
  • Assist in preparation of exhibition materials, presentations, collaboration proposal and articles etc
  • Provide support to the exhibitions department, from the research and development stage of a project through to its realisation
  • Ensuring that artwork inventory and online media platforms are always up to date 
  • Create marketing materials including press release and written content 
  • Assist in secure funding for the foundation
  • Provide administrative support to other department

REQUIREMENTS

  • A degree in art history, anthropology or a related discipline
  • Internship/ Work experience in the field of contemporary art, preferably at art galleries, foundation and auction houses
  • Excellent command of written and spoken English and Chinese 
  • Strong skills in communication, coordination, time management and problem solving
  • Proven ability to deliver to objectives and work consistently under pressure
  • Willingness to work late and on days off in order to tend to deadline and urgent matters if required 
  • Proficiency Mac Operating system and Microsoft office (skills in Photoshop, In Design and Sketchup are desirable)
