We are seeking an experienced and driven vocal leader who can help us to progress our singing strategy. They will deliver teaching across the full range of our vocal programme ensuring that children and young people in every corner of our city are singing with confidence and skill at every point of their school lives. We are particularly interested in developing both our primary singing provision (whole class and teacher CPD) and our choral offer – carving pathways into choirs for children and young people from all backgrounds and we welcome applications from professionals experienced in this area.
We expect our teachers to believe in the best for every pupil and school they work with. We want a member of the team who believes in the transformative power of music education, understands how to get the best possible musical outcomes from their pupils and schools that they work with.
As a Hub, we engage with 100% of primary schools and this work involves singing in primary and secondary settings. There is a mixture of work from specialist lessons to whole class teaching, along with the opportunity to be involved in City wide Singing Strategy with activities such as Singing Festivals, Choirs and the Singing Support Pack.
This portfolio of work occurs during the school day with some activities happening outside of this period in evenings and occasional weekends. This will bevdiscussed in more detail at interview.
We are a reflective musical community that is committed to inclusivity and creativity. We work hard to understand how we can best represent the musical interests and aspirations of children and young people from every corner of Sheffield. We have a growing reputation as an innovative Music Education Hub willing to drive change through authentic projects and programmes of activity delivered both directly, and in partnership with our strong and growing network of partners.
