OVERVIEW:

Lougher Contemporary, a fast-growing and market leading art dealership based in Bristol, is recruiting a new Gallery Assistant to become an integral part of its team.

We are looking for a bright and enthusiastic Gallery Assistant who is motivated by the opportunity to join a small but highly ambitious team, and to learn about all areas of a private client art dealership and consultancy business.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Managing the current sales process, from answering initial enquiries through to the completion of a sale;
  • Maintaining the Company’s client database;
  • Managing the Company’s 3rd party sales platforms, such as Artsy and Artnet;
  • Helping the current team manage the Company’s growing online presence.

 

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE MUST:

  • Be extremely organised, diligent, with good attention to detail;
  • Have a keen interest and passion for contemporary art and the art market;
  • Have excellent customer service skills, be articulate and well mannered;
  • Be educated to a minimum of BA/ BSc level in Fine Art, History of Art, or Business;
  • Be computer literate with excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly Microsoft Excel.

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE SHOULD IDEALLY HAVE:

  • A proven track record in B2C sales, preferably in the arts industry;
  • Experience or a willingness to learn how to handle, photograph and prepare artworks for shipping.
