This exciting project sees the National Portrait Gallery sending portraits of iconic individuals to places they are closely associated with. This country-wide initiative will enable portraits from the national collection to travel to towns and cities across the UK, providing venues and communities with the opportunity to celebrate their local heroes. Design and facilitate a digital art project on self-portraiture with support of a community group in exploring the core themes of home, coupled with a sense of place and identity in response to the COMING HOME project. Working with the portrait of Malala Yousafazi by artist Shirin Neshat which will be displayed at Birmingham Museums & Art Gallery.
Budget and Timescale
Project is over the months of November and December 2020, providing three sessions to the community group and displaying their art work digitally online and in the gallery.
