Collections Assistants are responsible for the accurate and timely location and movement of collections, to and from IWM locations, to agreed schedules and standards.
Post holders will be required from time to time to work in low temperature stores (protective clothing supplied) and to drive between sites.
- To undertake movement of items to and from store, and between branches, to schedules determined by the Senior Project Delivery Officer.
- To maintain accurate, accountable electronic documentation of the controlled movement of objects to appropriate storage locations by ensuring an accurate location record is in place at all times. Locations must be updated, for example, when objects are relocated in a piece of storage furniture, between storage areas, buildings or leave a site as set out in the Museum’s Location Policy and Procedures.
- To provide accurate, accountable electronic and paper based records of work undertaken.
- To undertake inventory and other documentation work as required supporting accountable movement and location, as required.
