Are you an experienced exhibitions project manager, keen to be part of the team that delivers the Museum of London's dynamic programme of exhibitions? Recent shows have ranged from The Crime Museum Uncovered to Fire! Fire!, from photography to archaeology - the possibilities are endless. And with the museum's planned move to West Smithfield, there has never been a more exciting time to work here.
The postholder will be one of two Exhibitions Project Managers responsible for managing a wide range of fast-moving exhibitions in the smaller spaces at both the Museum of London and the Museum of London Docklands. You will also be part of the project management team for major exhibitions, supporting one of our Major Exhibitions Project Managers, including managing specific exhibition packages such as audio-visual exhibits.
The successful candidate will have experience of managing exhibition projects from concept development through to opening within a museum or gallery context. You will need to have an excellent understanding of how to ensure an exhibition offers memorable visitor experiences as well as enhancing the museum's reputation, building its audiences and generating income. Creativity, strong organisational, analytical and problem-solving skills, and the ability to work under pressure are critical. Also essential are excellent communication skills and the ability to lead and work as part of a team, as well as experience of procuring and managing design and production services. A passion for London is a given for all members of the Museum of London team.
