The Royal Academy of Music has a distinguished history and reputation as one of the world’s leading conservatoires. The Events & Venues Technicians provide support to the Events Technical Manager by assisting in the coordination and setup of Academy events including rehearsals, concerts, masterclasses, competitions and prizes, lectures, classroom activity, receptions and the Junior Academy, as well as recurring events in the academic calendar such as entrance auditions, examinations and Graduation.
This is a flexible, hands-on and proactive role that involves continuous communication with other Estates staff, Departmental Administrators and Junior Academy staff for event planning. The post-holders are key in advising and assisting with technical services for teaching, classes and public events, including audio-visual of the highest quality.
The post-holders will act as stage managers for a variety of concerts and events and will work as a team with Front of House staff to ensure that performances run smoothly and any stage changes are executed in a professional and presentable manner to an audience.
There are two Events & Venues Technician roles currently available, collectively covering operational hours of 8am – 8pm Monday to Friday, plus alternate Saturdays 8am – 4pm. Each role will average 34 hours per week, working on a fortnightly shift pattern.
