Due to expansion we’re looking for a new Drama Teacher to join our Creative Teaching Team at Big Red Curtain, a Yorkshire based independent Stage School and Casting Agency that has been established for over 20 years.
We’re looking for an enthusiastic Drama Teacher/Facilitator who has a passion for Drama, Theatre and the Performing Arts. Candidates should have experience of teaching or directing drama to young people and will be able to lead drama workshops and drama focused lessons in classes of different ages and ability levels. It is desirable for the candidate to have knowledge of the LAMDA or Trinity College London Exam Syllabus or to have undertaken exams with these Examination Boards in the past.
The successful candidate will be teaching students aged 6-18yrs in separate age and ability based classes where you will provide workshops towards specific themes or productions, working as part of the creative team you will be directing productions, plays and musicals including our Pantomimes that are written in house specifically for each of our stage schools. During Exam season you will provide support and help students prepare for drama examinations.
This position is on a Permanent Part-Time basis for Saturday’s during school term time the hours will be 9am to 12noon at our Oulton/Rothwell School and 2pm to 5pm at our Boston Spa/Wetherby School with the potential in the future for additional hours extending to other days of the week.
This part time position would ideally suit an Under Graduate looking to have creative input within a commercial environment and further develop their teaching and directing skills within a growing independent stage school. However we would consider any candidate who is passionate and dedicated to the performing arts and can demonstrate practical knowledge, relevant supporting qualifications and/or experience who is perhaps looking to gain further teaching/directing experience.
All Candidates are required to have an Enhanced DBS check, if you do not already have a DBS Check we can advise you on how and where to obtain one before teaching for us.
