Communications Officer (Media Relations)

London office

Salary £28,282 per annum, plus excellent benefits

Contract: permanent, working 35 hours per week

Arts Council England champions, develops and invests in artistic and cultural experiences that enrich people’s lives. We support a range of activities across the arts, museums and libraries – from theatre to digital art, reading to dance, music to literature, and crafts to collections.

We’re looking for a talented Communications Officer specialising in media relations to join our team. You’ll use your excellent writing skills, and experience of print, online, broadcast, trade and social media to help us achieve the ambitions and objectives of our advocacy and communications strategy.

The role will involve a lot of writing, as well as developing creative story ideas, which you will pitch to journalists. You will be researching, writing and distributing press releases and other press content, including digital materials and handling media calls and issues. You will be monitoring the media for issues affecting the organisation and our sector and keep your colleagues informed of breaking stories and developments.  You will be working alongside colleagues to promote media stories and campaigns, as well as writing content for the web and across our social media networks.
