City Academy Ballroom Dance Teachers

City Academy are seeking enthusiastic, creative and personable Ballroom Dance teachers to teach our adult group courses in Central London.

City Academy is one of London's leading creative and performing arts academies. We run adult evening and weekend short courses in dance, acting, singing, creative writing, film-making and more. Established in 2007, City Academy has grown from a single venue to over 40 partner venues across London including Sadler’s Wells, Diorama Arts and Soho Theatre.

Our tutors are industry professionals that work closely with us to deliver exceptional service and experiences for our students.

Dance courses are taught in a group environment and run during weekday evenings and weekends for 6-8 weeks in duration.

About the role:

We are looking for tutors for 2018 who can engage groups of beginners, intermediate and advanced students and are passionate about developing exciting collaborative programmes of work for a range of students.

We welcome candidates who are willing to develop the portfolio of courses and workshops and can commit to ongoing teaching.  We are currently looking for Ballroom dance teachers who can teach the beginner and improver level classes as well as run our in house Ballroom Dance Company.

Role and Responsibilities:

  • Planning and preparation of course outlines.
  • Developing teaching materials/resources.
  • Possess a thorough understanding of musical notation, key, harmony, scales, melody, etc.
  • Be sympathetic to the student’s current standard of ability.
  • Be an excellent motivator to help develop student confidence.
