Do you have an interest in the history of science and technology? Would you like to contribute to a once-in-a-lifetime museum project?
We are looking for an Assistant Curator as part of the One Collection project: our major strategic initiative to re-imagine how our world-leading collection of objects relating to science, technology, transport, medicine and the media is cared for, accessed and shared.
In this role you will be providing collections-based expertise and putting through acquisitions and disposals. Enabling researchers by answering queries and providing collections access, you will improve collections records and support colleagues on the One Collection project with object logistics and photography as required.
You will have experience of working with object collections, as well as strong research skills and excellent communication techniques. You will be able to prioritise your workload, deliver to deadlines and adapt in the face of ad hoc requests and unexpected issues.
This role is offered on a 12 month Fixed Term Contract basis.
You will be offered excellent benefits, including 25 days annual leave in addition to bank holidays, a contributory pension scheme, BUPA medical and dental care, an annual season ticket loan and numerous staff discounts whilst developing your career in a world class museum group.
